My earliest memory is of my mother talking to her friends in one particular spot of our sparce yet inviting home. It was in this spot that lived experiences were discussed, laughter was shared and support was offered to overcome moments of despair. I would watch in awe when my mom’s friends left our home happier than they entered. I later learned to think of the place my mom offered solace as “The Spot”. Was my mom a therapist? No, she wasn’t. Was she a compassionate human being who was always ready to lend a listening ear and support? Yes, she was!
When I embarked on my journey towards completing my education in psychotherapy, my intention was to create a haven which was like the safe, non-judgmental spot we had in our home growing up. That is the birthplace of the company’s name “The Psychotherapy Spot”. It is my intention to create a space that is filled with empathy and compassion, whilst the backdrop of my practice methods will continue to be rooted in sound psychological education, ethical compliance, and the ability to assist with goal-oriented healing through counselling. My educational experience enables me to offer effective outpatient, individualized therapy and mental health support. I treat clients with a number of mental health disorders, and provide a neutral ground to individuals and couples.
